Donation Presented by St Andrews Scout Group to The Friends of Meols Park
We wish to express many thanks to the St Andrews Scout Group in Meols for their tireless efforts in raising funds to donate towards The Friends of Meols Park “Sparks In The Park” events during the past 3 years to the selling of hot dogs and drinks to the local community from the Scout building in Mumfords Lane, Meols.
The gesture is very much appreciated and cheques amounting to One Hundred and Fifty pounds were presented to Roy and Rachel on behalf of Friends of Meols Park, by both Cubs and Scouts during their weekly meet at St Andrews Church Hall on Tuesday 4th November 2014.

Viking Weekend and Family Funfair was a Great Success!
The Friends of Meols Park wish to thank everyone for coming along to the weekend events in the Park. Thanks also to the helpers and of course to all the Vikings who came from far and wide. There was a great deal of interest in the Viking way of life and some of the questions that the young children were asking were hilarious, for example ” How do you keep food fresh without a fridge” …. ” Are you really 1,000 yrs old” ….. “what are you wearing under that dress” ….. “Is that a real baby she is holding” …
Thanks also to local historian Peter France of Wirral Archeology who talked all afternoon about local heritage and exhibiting Viking ‘findings’ like arrow heads. There was a constant crowd of people of all ages around his gazebo.
All in all the Event was a great success, with even the weather being kind to us in the main. Check the Viking Wirral website for further information about our planned Ingimund Statue Project to mark the arrival of the largest replica Viking Ship in the World next summer.
